Mission, Purpose, Goals, Objectives: The purpose of the Cameroon Bioethics Initiative is to contribute to improvement in the health of individuals and populations in Cameroon and Africa by creating networks that will promote research and education and advocate for investment in health within Cameroon and the African continent. The specific goals of the Cameroon Bioethics Initiative are as follows: ï‚•ï€ To enable researchers to conduct research according to laid down international standards, norms and ethics. ï‚•ï€ To build capacity in bioethics by ensuring that health care providers have the understanding, knowledge and ability to work on health issues. ï‚•ï€ To enable our members to produce high quality collaborative research with partners in middle and low income countries to identify possible solutions to health problems in these settings. ï‚•ï€ To ensure that governments, the donor community and civil society contribute more to addressing ethical issues about diseases by raising awareness and advocating for an African health perspective.
