 Integrated maternal newborn and child health strategy 2007
This high profile initiative was put together by the Federal Ministry of Health to articulate Nigeria?s comprehensive actions to fast track the achievement of the 4th and 5th Millennium Development Goals and contribute towards achieving MDGs 1, 6 and 7.  National Health management Information System
Policy - Programme - Strategic Plan of Action 1996 
- National Oral Health Policy , Federal Ministry of Health , Abuja
Oral health is the well being of the oral cavity including the dentition its supporting structures. It involves the ability of individuals to carry out essential functions such as eating and speaking while being able to contribute fully to society. The first National Oral Health Policy was developed in 1998 and revised in 2011 in line with global trends. The revised National Health Policy addresses and projects the achievement of optimal health of at least 50% of Nigerians through sustainable awareness creation, early detection and prompt treatment of oral diseases using evidence interventions, strategic research, workforce development through training and human resources development; service delivery and standard health financing; research; oral health information systems; institutional framework; and monitoring and evaluation. The policy was reviewed by stakeholders in oral health - WHO, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, National Health Insurance Scheme, Medical practitioners in the three tiers of the health system and the private sector. 30 pages . ?  (this document will be available soon)
 National Strategic Health Development Plan (NSHDP) 2010 - 2015
The National Strategic Health Development Plan (or NSHDP) ? reflects shared aspiration to strengthen the national health system and to vastly improve the health status of Nigerians. The Plan is the overarching reference health development document for all actors towards delivery on a shared Results Framework, to which each and everyone will be held accountable for achieving the goals and targets as contained in the Results Framework. The Health Plan, which was also developed in tandem with the guidelines of the National Planning Commission ? Vision 20:2020 process (including the NV20:2020 Implementation Plan), is the compass or reference for the health sector Medium Term Sector Strategy (MTSS) and annual operational plans and budgets at all levels.   - (pdf, 5799.11 Kb)
 Revised National Health Policy
The National Health Policy represents the collective will of the people and government of Nigeria to provide a comprehensive health care system that is based on primary health care. It describes goals, structure, strategy and policy direction of health care delivery system in Nigeria. It describes the roles and responsibilities of the three tiers of government without neglecting the non-governmental actors. Its long term goal is to provide the entire population with adequate access to not only primary health care but to also secondary and tertiary services through a well functioning referral system.  - (pdf, 10535.19 Kb)
- Standard Treatment Guidelines/Abuja: Federal Ministry of Health, 2008.
ABSTRACT Nigeria?s health indices are among the worst in the world partly due to inefficient organization of health services. The guidelines was serialized in such away as to assist health care providers especially doctors in the effective discharge of their duty as prescribers. The guidelines focuses on standard treatment on alimentary tract, blood and blood forming organs; cardiovascular system; dental and oral disorders, CNS, dermatology Ear nose and throat, endocrine system, eye disorder, genitor urinary system; infectious diseases/infestation, musculoskeletal system; obstetrics and gynaecology, respiratory system; surgical care and associated disorders, paediatrics perspectives, therapeutics, notifiable diseases; injuries and acute trauma and emergencies.
